An overview of the changes in IQ4docs is provided below.
4.14.37 (25.11.2022)
- Printing
- Correction: Messenger was very slow when printing via the print proxy (e.g. when printing images via the context menu in Windows Explorer).
- Correction: In the list of print jobs in WebClient, the highlighting of the current print job disappeared when properties of the print job were changed.
- Correction: The Refresh button in the WebClient did not update the price display below the print job list.
- Correction: When sending a print job to a device via IPPS, it could happen that an error occurred in the PrintService and the print did not take place.
- Scanning Documentprocessing
- New: Support for Russian and Ukrainian in OCR recognition in the Zone OCR module.
- Correction: If a scan job cannot be started by the company because an attempt is made to start a duplex scan from the scanner glass, a clearly understandable error message is displayed on Epson and Kyocera devices.
- Document processing
- New: In the Document Review module, an HTML-formatted text can be created in an info field that is displayed in the WebClient.
- New: In the Document Review module, it is now possible to set that documents should only be displayed randomly in the My Tasks area.
- New: In the Document Check module, variables can now be defined that can be (additionally) displayed and filled independently of a classification.
- New: New module Start document workflow starts a document workflow from a scan workflow or another document workflow from a document workflow.
- New: Interviews still to be answered are now called Task in the dialog.
- Correction: The display of the variable fields of the document check in the WebClient was not correct in Mozilla Firefox.
- Correction: It could happen that e-mail attachments from an e-mail document inbox did not start a document workflow.
- Accounting
- New: Sender address for e-mailing the receipt for manual budgeting can now be set separately.
- Correction: For Epson devices, a copy job was started even if the budget was used up (interrupting a running copy job if the budget is no longer sufficient for the copy job is not possible for Epson devices).
- Correction: For Epson devices, the new account balance was displayed only after logging out and logging in again.
- Correction: The message that the budget is used up and the process stops on the device was not displayed on some devices.
- Correction: It could happen that not all entries in the account statement were displayed correctly in the WebClient.
- Correction: It could happen that manual budgeting in WebAdmin under Manual budgeting was displayed twice after some time.
- Correction: In the WebClient the prices for print jobs were no longer displayed correctly when print job properties were changed.
- DeviceClient
- New: Workflow messages can now be viewed for a workflow afterwards in the message center on the device (this is useful e.g. if a message is immediately covered by another message, e.g. if budget is used up).
- Correction: It could happen that faxes were not sent because the corresponding fax workflow (fax server as well as fax card) was not terminated correctly (new DeviceClient required).
- Correction: The global timer setting Auto logout on device inactivity in seconds in the device settings also logged out on Lexmark devices when typing on the keyboard.
- Correction: If there were many workflow tiles in the Workflows area, they were loaded with a delay once the workflows were sorted in Webadmin.
- Correction: In the fax dialog, a default number value was removed on Epson devices when a fax number was entered via the hardware keys of the device.
- Multi tenant
- Correction: The default maintenance password was not displayed in WebAdmin and a changed one was not transmitted to the device.
- Correction: When the SNMP community was changed, the display of paper trays in the copy menu was no longer possible.
- Correction: The setting Allow copying when disconnected from the server was not correctly transferred to the device and was thus not usable.
- System / Documentation
- New: German-English language switching is now possible on every help page via the country flag icon.
- Correction: When importing Azure AD, the TLS version set in the system area was not used correctly.

4.14.25 (09.09.2022)
- Scan- und Dokumentenverarbeitung
- New: Interview modules can now also be used in document workflows. The data is entered in the WebClient in the my tasks area (user license document check required).
- New: Variable %ResultFileNames% contains a list of resulting file names if file separation is enabled (works only within a workflow and not if a workflow is split into several as in zone OCR).
- New: Support for Russian and Ukrainian in OCR recognition.
- New: Many new variables from device data and scan and document data.
- Correction: It could happen that interview dialogs were displayed incompletely on the device.
- Printing
- Correction: When using the Kyocera Classic printer driver, Jobname= was incorrectly displayed before the name of the print job.
- Devices
- New: Support of the new Lexmark device models CX730, CX735, CX943 (new DeviceClient and DeviceService required).
- New: For Lexmark devices, the IQ4docs embedded client interface can now be exited via Settings > Close Application Window (for devices that don't have a home button).
- New: New card reader driver for Lexmark devices (can be used backward compatible for all devices).
- Correction: Device import example in doc was not correct and has been corrected.
- Correction: Under high system load, errors could occur when processing RabbitMQ messages for the device interface.
- RabbitMQ
- New: Advanced configuration of RabbitMQ.
- New: RabbitMQ policies can now be created via a definition file when starting RabbitMQ.
- New: RabbitMQ users with permissions can now be created via a definition file when starting RabbitMQ.
- New: RabbitMQ VHost can now be created via a definition file when starting RabbitMQ.
- New: Improved behavior when clustering RabbitMQ.
- Correction: Depending on the system settings, there could be a problem when creating a cluster if the HomeDrive was not set to c:.
- System / Reports
- Correction: Using a new driver for MongoDB in all services. In interaction with MongoDB 4.4 an authentication error "Invalid Nonce" could occur.
- Correction: The text in system emails could be incomplete if a language other than German was set.
- Correction: If the interval of a report is set to monthly it could happen that the to-period was wrongly set to e.g. 31.05.22 0:00 instead of 31.05.22 23:59.
- Correction: Problems could occur during data distribution (e.g. upward distribution of card data).

IQ4docs cannot be run on Windows Server 2012R2. Windows Server 2012R2 support was discontinued with version 4.14.13.
4.14.20 (08.08.2022)
- Printing
- New: Redesign of the setting for the print method and delegation printing in the WebClient (analog to the setting in the Webadmin).
- New: New user rights for changing the print method and delegation print (in WebClient).
- Devices
- New: For Lexmark devices, the input field is now initially cleared when using the hardware keyboard (e.g. when specifying the number of copies).
- Correction: It could happen that the value -99999 was displayed for device data from the fleet management. Now "-" is displayed here.
- Correction: If the device search was aborted, the connection from DeviceService to the devices could be interrupted for a short time.
- System
- New: When registering a card, the card number can be checked for plausibility with a regular expression and saving can be refused if necessary.
- Correction: ConfigService sent configuration data even to services that are not installed or have been deactivated.
- Correction: Logging on to WebAdmin in a multi-client environment was not possible.
- Correction: Use of a new driver for MongoDB in DeviceService. In interaction with MongoDB 4.4 an authentication error "Invalid Nonce" could occur.
- Other minor improvements and corrections.
4.14.17 (08.07.2022)
- New: Adminstrative identifier in the system area allows to restrict the view to system areas, print jobs located there and to select the system area in the device record.
- Correction: Fields in the installer enlarged to allow entering very long hostnames.
4.14.13 (06/02/2022)
- Printing
- Correction: With very large print jobs, it could happen that the workflow did not continue after the analysis.
- Correction: For web or email prints, the user's keywords were not loaded correctly and were not available in the workflow.
- Scan
- New: Proxy for OneDrive connection no longer hosted at MSE (new redirect URL required in LocalService.config of ConfigService):

- Epson Devices
- Correction: On Epson devices, the Auto Logout timer also logged off when there still interaction on the display.
- Correction: The Embedded Client window could not be closed (for copying) multiple times per login session on Epson devices.
- Correction: Fax server workflows could not be started on Epson devices.
- Reports
- Correction: It could happen that the ReportService was terminated unexpectedly and remained in MaintenanceMode.
- Correction: Improvements to reports and in the report designer.
- Correction: MongoDB-Installer installs required Microsoft runtime vcruntime140_1.dll into the directory c:\windows\system32.
- Correction: Date variables were not processed correctly in the Notification module.
- Correction: For SmartPrinter licenses, fax card workflows were displayed on the device.
4.14.7 (05/05/2022)
- Scan
- New: The content of an OCR zone can be filtered using a regular expression. This allows data corresponding to the expression to be found and extracted from anywhere on the page.
- New: The recognition of QR codes was further improved.
- New: Zone content can now have spaces removed from within the zone (in addition to at the beginning and end).
- Correction: In the Decision module, self-generated variables were not displayed correctly.
- Correction: Minor corrections in the Replace Variable module.
- Printing
- Correction: With Epson devices, the finishing options Staple and Punch could not be set correctly via print rule or on the device.
- Reports
- New: The report summary can now be turned off in the menu.
- Correction: Summarized reports now no longer include the clock times.
- Correction: In reports it could happen that the last days of the month were not included in the report.
- Correction: Not all elements were output in the generated report and were therefore different from the preview.
- Correction: CSV report headings have been optimized.

MongoDB 4.4.13 cannot be run on Windows Server 2012R2. For new IQ4docs installations, Windows Server 2012R2 support will be discontinued.
4.13.77 (03/25/2022)
- Devices
- New: Support for Konica devices is being discontinued. Konica devices are no longer supported effective immediately.
- New: With a maintenance password definable by the customer, a technician can log in to the device with administrator rights.
- Scanning / Document Processing
- Correction: When scanning to a directory with directory selection (folder browsing), the directory depth did not work correctly and could lead to an error.
- Correction: In the Zones OCR, Barcode, QR Code module, page separation did not work correctly for odd pages.
- Correction: Recognition of QR codes improved.
- Correction: When creating a new document input by folder, the default workflow was not selected correctly.
- E-mail
- New: When sending e-mails, the MIME type for attached files is explicitly set to the file type for this section (e.g. Application/PDF).
- Correction: The sender address specified in the e-mail section was not used when sending the PIN.
- Printing
- Correction: With Epson machines it could happen that jobs could not be continued during scanning and printing because the job ID could not be found in the job log of the device event.
- Correction: Multibrand technology did not work correctly on Epson machines.
- Correction: For some device manufacturers, the number of copies of a print job was not correctly taken into account in the context of the multibrand technology.

- DeviceClient 4.13.17 for Lexmark devices with improvements, among others, in RabbitMQ queue handling.
- DeviceClient 4.13.18.2 for Kyocera devices with improvements for the current Kyocera devices.
4.13.74 (02/15/2022)
- New: Support for Windows Server 2022.
- New: Variable names in the variable replacement modules and in the decision module can now be entered freely (variables do not have to have been created in the workflow, but can also be supplied from outside).
- New: Method of barcode recognition in OCR module configurable (Smart/Alternative).
- New: Whether an image document should be rotated within the Image Enhancement module can now be set (rotation in 90° steps).
- New: DeviceClient 4.13.16 for Lexmark devices with improvements e.g. in cluster handling.
With an encrypted connection, automatic confirmation of an untrustworthy certificate by the DeviceClient is no longer possible as of this version; the server certificate must be stored in the device, see SSL Transmission From Services and to the Browser in the documentation.
- Correction: Problem fixes in license handling
- Correction: Errors could occur in the PDF to TIFF module of a document workflow.
- Correction: When separating pages of the Zones OCR, Barcode, QR Code module, a memory increase of the ImageService was fixed.
- Correction: In one client system, problems could occur when manually posting to user accounts.

- Lexmark DeviceClient
A DeviceService 4.13.27 (or later) can no longer communicate with a DeviceClient prior to version 4.13.16. An update of the Lexmark DeviceClient is absolutely necessary.
4.13.58 (11/05/2021)

- Printing
- New: Username and print job name can be read out from the print job name of the PJL header using a regular expression (print input RAW port).
- Correction: Tray control set in the driver did not work correctly on some Lexmark models.
- Correction: If a direct print failed and the print was redirected to the Print Job List module, it could happen that the print was not deleted immediately after the first printing.
- Scanning, Workflows
- New: Default sender for e-mails for areas in which the sender cannot be explicitly specified can be defined at the outbox.
- Correction: The list of the Interview Selection (ODBC) module was not filled in on the device.
- Correction: The directory search in the SMB module only showed an empty dialog on the device.
- Correction: In the Scan to E-mail module it could happen that the subject and sender were not set as specified.
- Correction: In the interview module it could happen that dialogs with required fields could be continued without any input.
- Correction: During barcode recognition it could happen that 1D barcodes were also recognized from a zone defined as a 2D barcode.
- Correction: Directory search in the SMB module did not show any file paths.
- License
- Correction: If support had expired, it could happen that the license was deactivated.
- Correction: The license display did not always work correctly in a client environment.
- Other corrections and new features
- New: Support of latest Kyocera device series (e.g. TASKalfa 4054ci).
- Correction: In the outbox it could happen that settings were not saved.
- Correction: Corrections in the documentation (e.g. the number of fields in the device import was not correct in the example).
- Other minor changes.
- Correction: It could happen during import that admin roles were alternately removed and added again with each import run.
4.13.41 (09/21/2021)
- Scanning and Document Processing
- New: Interview modules can now be placed as desired in the workflow and no longer have to be executed directly after the start module.
- New: For Epson devices, scan files are no longer transferred as TIFF, but as a JPG file (the transfer is significantly faster because the TIFF file is much larger).
- New: Pages can now be removed from a PDF file in the PDF Changes module.
- Correction: With Epson devices, the first page of the scan was duplicated in the destination file.
- Correction: The scan to e-mail module did not work correctly because the user's e-mail address was not entered correctly.
- User Import
- New: Import users from a Microsoft Azure Active Directory.
- Accounting
- New: The cost center can be set by the content of a variable (accounting module) and, for example, be set automatically by conditions or read from external databases.
- New: In the Print Job Interview module, you can now set whether only the assigned cost centers or all cost centers should be available in Messenger.
- Large installations
- New: Print jobs can be administered from within the main installation during data distribution (remove remote print capability).
- New: Configuration distribution now occurs asynchronously and performs noticeably better for data distribution or installations with many system areas.
- New: Service configurations can now be viewed in detail in the system area in the Display Service Versions dialog and can also be resent.
- Printing
- New: Interview Input, Interview Selection and Interview Selection (ODBC) modules are now also available in a print workflow (e.g. for transferring a cost center via variable).
- New: SingleDriver multi-brand technology: If the manufacturer of the printer driver and the device on which the print is output do not match, the print file is prepared accordingly.
- New: Print input via HotFolder - a PRN or PDF file can be fed from a folder. In addition, an XML file for the transfer of further data.
- New: Enhancement and modification of the setting options for printing the e-mail body in the print input (e-mail body can be printed always or by keyword).
- Correction: Printing the e-mail body during E-MailPrint by subject line keyword (#PrintBody#) did not work correctly.
- DeviceClient 4.13.1.2
- New: Proxy function: All requests from the browser are first routed through a DeviceClient’s own proxy (e.g. for Kyocera devices, this minimizes the F349 problem).
- New: Full-screen mode for the newest Kyocera device series, incl. Functions for sleep mode and status via the DeviceClient interface.
- E-mail
- Correction: Negotiation of encryption method for sending e-mails via Exchange protocol not correct, a fixed encryption method can now be set in LocalService.config of the NotificationService (problem first appeared with Exchange 2019).
- Correction: Sending e-mails via SMTP and receiving via POP3 and IMAP did not work correctly with SSL/TLS and type TLS 1.2 and 1.3.
- Other corrections and new features
- New: Old workflow modules that have been replaced by new versions are now marked in the workflow by a red exclamation mark (they still work, but should be replaced promptly).
- Correction: Push messages that should be displayed via Messenger were not always displayed.
4.12.44 (04/14/2021)
- Scanning and Document Processing
- New: Document check (user license required).
- New: When scanning to SMB, the folder structure of the target server can be browsed on the device to select the scan folder.
- New: Scan to USB also possible with Epson devices.
- New: Zones in zone OCR are allowed to overlap (new barcode engine).
- New: When downloading scan files in WebClient, a zip file is created and downloaded when multiple files are selected.
- New: New variables for scan data.
- Correction: Problems with multiple scans on Epson devices fixed.

- New: Support of Sharp devices with new microservice SharpComService.
- New: Card logout for Epson devices also possible when the menu of the device is displayed.
- New: Positions are now sorted alphabetically and are searchable in the device details.

- Correction: Improvement of the print data analysis.

- New: Default workflow: If this workflow may not be used, the next workflow of this category will be used as the default workflow.
- New: New user rights: View recent workflows, Use device function and Save settings on device.
- New: Variables and decision options for the creator of a workflow (to distinguish a creator from the owner of the workflow after a transfer).

- Client system
- Correction: Number of registrable cards in the client system is not taken into account.
- Correction: PIN defaults were not correctly observed for a client system during PIN import.

- Users
- New: Additional languages for the user interfaces (DeviceClient, WebClient, e-mails): French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese and Chinese.
- New: Under the administration rights for users, it is now possible to assign a "Report Administrator" role.
- New: User-defined user fields which can be filled manually or via an import from an LDAP or CSV file.
- New: User roles can now be freely defined and areas for read or write access can be grouped.
- New: Users can be completely imported from a CSV file (previously only additional data for existing users could be imported).
- Correction: During the update, the new user rights for existing users were not applied correctly.
- Correction: If users had very many and very long keywords, it was possible for a login to the device to fail.
- Correction: During LDAP import it could happen that inactive users were not reactivated by the import run.
- Correction: It was possible for an error to occur when the anonymous user logged off the device.
- Printing and copying
- New: The automatic deletion of print jobs can be extended by a configurable number of days by clicking a link in the notification e-mail.
- New: If the deletion day falls on a Saturday or Sunday when print jobs are deleted automatically due to a time expiration, the deletion is postponed to the following Monday.
- Correction: If print jobs were saved encrypted, problems could occur when sending via IPP.
- Correction: Error in copy settings (e.g. color settings) on Kyocera and Lexmark devices fixed.
- Correction: The maximum size of a print file for IPP printing was sometimes not set to 2 GB (but to the default value of 30 MB).
- System
- New: Protocol type selectable in the system area.
- New: Offline Documentation: Documentation that exactly matches the installation is stored locally during installation (the online documentation is password protected; dealers and customers can obtain free access).
- New: An existing system user is read from the registry and entered into the installer dialog, e.g. after uninstalling and reinstalling.
- New: For encrypted communication, the encryption method can now be set in the system area.
- New: When the license expired, the DeviceService stopped working completely - now it is possible to import a new license in this state.
- Correction: The message "Workflow could not be started" was displayed on older Kyocera devices because many of the web return values are unknown to their web browser so it replaced them with 0 (a workaround was created for this).
- Correction: Depending on the workflow settings, it was sometimes not possible to export a workflow.
- Messenger
- New: Local Print Redirection: If the Messenger loses the connection to the NotificationService, a local network printer can be addressed automatically.
- New: Recipient Selection in Messenger: Print jobs can be forwarded to a user that can be selected in the Messenger pop-up.
- Other corrections and new features
- New: In zone OCR, all sections with the same zone content can now be merged into one file when the pages are separated.
- New: Improvement of the device list, creation of views including search filter.
- New: The accounting data have been enhanced to include an administrative identifier and areas to provide better filtering.
- Correction: In the WebClient, a negative account balance was displayed in green.
- Correction: When importing a new license it was possible that the license option "Use User Accounts" would only applied correctly after the AccountingService was restarted.
- Correction: Automatic reports were executed too often and no e-mail was sent.
- Correction: User defined device fields were not shown in the detail dialog of the device when creating a new data record (only when the device was edited).
4.10.39 (07/09/2020)
- New: Improved Messenger with print and backup-print function
- New: When importing, the keyword of the cost center is always placed first in the user's list of cost centers.
- New: The budget of the user can now be displayed in the DeviceClient on the device.
- New: Direct printers can now also be passed in the printer name of an LPR printer name.
- New: New report templates
- Correction: When importing LDAP with SSL, the import process was sometimes canceled.
- Correction: Several corrections in user interfaces, texts and behavior when resizing or in responsive design.
- Correction: Prices were not displayed correctly in the WebClient if devices had different price lists.
- Correction: Prices were not correctly hidden in the WebClient if no prices were to be displayed.
- Correction: In a manual posting, the recipient was not unique if there were many users with the same name.
4.9.28 (03/23/2020)
- WebClient
- Correction: During the WebClient upload, a document was always printed immediately, even if print@me was set as the print method.
- Correction: During WebClient upload, a file with the same name from the same directory could only be uploaded again after the page was reloaded (Google Chrome).
- Correction: After login via SSO, pages of the WebClient were not loaded correctly (it was correct after reloading the page).
- Correction: The possibility of spamming via the WebClient has been eliminated - a user can now request a pin code or password in the login screen a maximum of 10 times per day.
- Printing and copying
- Correction: A print job was not printed if the "All Pages" checkbox on the device was disabled and then enabled again.
- Correction: If no job name was recognized in the print data stream, the workflow was sometimes canceled.
- Correction: The hostname check for direct printer assignments was case sensitive (now upper and lower case is no longer relevant for the check).
