User Import
In many cases, user data already exists in a company, for example in file form or in a directory service such as Microsoft Active Directory (AD). To avoid having to reenter this data manually, you can import it conveniently into a IQ4docs database using the IQ4docs import function.
This allows you to not only import user data in many ways, but also to import privileges or roles and, if desired, do so in dependence on group memberships in the directory service.
Automatic user import makes the daily administration of your IQ4docs system easier. New employees, changes to existing records or the deletion of employees who have left can be done automatically at a configurable time interval using "Automatic user import" which compares with already existing data sources.
The transmission of the data from a directory service via LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) can be SSL-encrypted (Secure Sockets Layer), if desired.

It is possible to read a user's data from an LDAP data source and supplement it with data from an import file.
If, for example, the users' card numbers are not in the directory service, but are present in a file, they can be added to the user data read from the directory service (when importing a file, the login name is the unique identifier and this is used to find the user to whom the card data are to be added).
