Using Pin Codes
With a PIN, a user can log in to a device or the WebClient.

To ensure the security of a pin code, the complexity of the pin code can be specified. This is taken into account when generating pin codes automatically. It is randomly generated in the set minimum length and randomly selected from all allowed characters.

To open the web administration, enter http://<hostname>/webadmin in the web browser (where hostname corresponds to the server on which IQ4docs WebAdmin was installed).

In the web administration, click Authentication in the menu.

Specify the minimum length of the pin code and define the characters of which the pin code may consist (numeric characters, lowercase and uppercase letters). Not all permitted characters need to appear in the pin code.
Remember that if the user pin code is activated, the print jobs can be picked up with this pin code and therefore they should not be too simple.
PINs can be assigned to a user in several ways:

Any user can have a pin code generated. This can be done in the WebClient in the User area, see User.

A pin code can be requested with the WebClient, and it is then sent to the user's e-mail address. To do so, click the √ button in the Generate New Pin Code area. Any possible previously existing pin code will be replaced without a confirmation prompt. A new pin code can be requested a maximum of 10 times per day.

The administrator defines the pin code in the user dialog, see User List.

If the data for the pin code is available in a directory service, it can be imported, see LDAP Import. There is no notification of the user that a pin code is available.

Pin codes can be generated automatically for new users by the import service. In this case, the rules for the complexity of the pin code are applied (see Define complexity of pin codes). Users are automatically informed of the new pin code by e-mail, see User Import.
